Apple today released the seventh developer preview of macOS Sierra since showing off the software update for the Mac at WWDC 2016. The latest release is available now through the Mac App Store. macOS Sierra’s headlining feature is Siri on the Mac with other features like Auto-Unlock which lets Apple Watch users skip the password login screen. Apple Pay is also coming to Safari with macOS Sierra, although we haven’t seen the feature live on the web yet....

Apple is expanding its Windows Migration Assistant in macOS 10.14 Mojave with a handful of new features that will make switching from Windows to macOS a much more seamless experience. As spotted by a user on Twitter, for macOS 10.14 beta 6, the Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant will be able to migrate more data than ever before such as accounts, documents, email, contacts, and calendar. Update: As of 6.30am PT, Apple had updated its status page as showing all services back to normal. The company said that 40% of users had been affected. Apple’s system status page is showing a substantial issue with iCloud services, the problems affecting eleven different services and persisting for four hours and counting at the time of writing. M1 said in a statement Wednesday it would fork out an estimated 111 million ringgit ($26.17 million) for the transaction, which would be carried out through its Malaysia-based subsidiary AsiaPac Technology. AsiaPac itself was acquired by M1 in 2018. Under the deal, GCS and GCIS would be restructured as wholly-owned subsidiaries under Glocomp and managed by one management team. On Wednesday, cybersecurity researchers from JFrog said that hundreds of malicious packages have been identified, created to steal valuable personally identifiable information (PII) from developers. According to researchers Andrey Polkovnychenko and Shachar Menashe, the repositories were first detected on March 21 and steadily grew from roughly 50 malicious npm packages to over 200 in a matter of days. International Data Corporation (IDC) is out with its Q4 2019 data today, breaking down the PC industry during the holiday shopping season.
