For many years after the introduction of the iPad, it was released like clockwork in the Spring. Since the K–12 buying season is also in the Spring, it was a perfect time for schools to make bulk purchases of the iPad. Way back in the year 2013, a Lithuanian man tricked employees of two major tech companies into wiring over $100 million to the bank accounts that he controlled. Now, the two victim companies are identified as Google and Facebook. According to the reports from Fortune, Both of the companies paid out more than $100 million. Maple Media has purchased popular podcast app Player FM. Player FM was one of the top 10 download podcast apps on the App Store and Google Play store during March. Acquisitions of podcast apps seem to be a coming trend after both Pocket Casts and Castro were purchased. Pocket Casts was purchased by WNYC, NPR, WBEZ, and This American Life. Apple today released the sixth developer preview of macOS Sierra since showing off the software update for the Mac at WWDC 2016. The latest release is available now through the Mac App Store. macOS Sierra’s headlining feature is Siri on the Mac with other features like Auto-Unlock which lets Apple Watch users skip the password login screen. Apple’s latest MacBook Air landed last fall sporting a Retina display with 300 nits brightness. Now, Apple has updated its tech specs page for the notebook listing. As spotted by Reddit user cheesepuff07 (via MacRumors) Apple quietly updated the display brightness specification for the Retina MacBook Air. Until recently, the notebook’s display had a maximum brightness of 300 nits with it now being listed at 400 nits. MR confirmed with Apple that the change came along with the macOS 10....

A new fan-made poster for Blade shows what Mahershala Ali could look like as the famous vampire hunter. The character Blade first appeared back in 1973 in the comic The Tomb of Dracula #10, before getting his own movie in 1998 with Wesley Snipes in the lead role. Update: SFWeekly is now reporting that SFPD did in fact assist Apple in the search of the Bernal Heights man’s home. A Bernal Heights man claims six men claiming to be San Francisco Police searched his home in July alleging they had traced a prototype next-gen iPhone to the location, this according to a report from SFWeekly.
